Goa Baga beach is an option for those
who want to be away from the hustle and bustle found on the other
beaches.
Baga Beach in Goa looks as if it has come alive out of
a painting… majestic white waves rushing to wipe out the feet
imprints left by you on the brown sand while the wind continues
to flirt with the palm trees.
Goa's Baga beach is a small but perfect beach
located between its two more famous cousins, Colva on one side and
Calanguate on the other. It is a good place to enjoy some quite
moments and dwell in peaceful contemplation with oneself.
The Baga River flows down from one side offering a pleasant for
children and those who love the water but can't risk the rip currents
that swirl round the mouth, where the river and the sea meet and
on the far right bank, tourists at Baga beach will see a group of
black rocks against which the sea crashes
Baga Goa has developed more rapidly than any other region
in Goa. The main road running through the Baga village is lined
with several bars, tandoori terraces and handicraft shops. The relatively
newer Saturday flea market of Baga Goa, is a huge success and an
occasion of much that lasts well into the night, brightly lit up
with lights and paraffin lamps. All kinds of odds and ends, handicrafts,
jewellery and snacks stalls can be found at Baga
and a temporary stage is constructed for the visiting local musician.
Baga Goa's nightlife is the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect
expression of the Goan and Western mix of culture.
Backwater crocodile and dolphin spotting down the Mandovi River
to the Zuari River is a favorite pastime for the travelers at the
Baga beach. The thickly forested banks of these
rivers are rife with mangrove trees and inhabited by crocodiles
in the swampy regions. Dolphins can be spotted at the mouth of the
Mandovi River.
Goa, a small state on the hilly
terrain of Western India is a sought after tourist destination for
its bedazzling sun, glorious golden sandy beaches and green and
serene milieu.
Ruled by the Portuguese for a long period, the European influence
blended with local conventions make Goa distinctively lively and
dynamically different from the rest of the country. Goa,
essentially a cluster of hamlets, is very ethnic in feel while being
entirely modern in flair.
